What is 'strong enough' ?
Too many times over the years someone has told me they are "not strong enough" to do strength training, to train in a strength gym and/or to try Powerlifting.
What they struggle to then tell me, is what is enough? Where does not enough end and enough starts?
Everyone you see daily on the gram who does these things was once you... once new to training, new to gyms, new to discomfort and new to any form of weight based training. We all start at the same place, like bambi learning to walk.
Personally, that was me back in 2013. I touched my first dumbbell and first cable machine with my new coach as i began a journey down a path that made me uncomfortable, nervous and very self conscious - to becoming a fitness model. I was also fighting demons in my personal life, which left me emotionally broken, physically fragile and mentally weak.
Since i started Powerlifting later that the same year, I've failed many reps, sat on the floor and cried, questioned my ability to ever make progress and thought about giving up countless times... and yet, still to this day, i am still going. Why?
The failed reps teach us lessons, the hard sessions build resilience, the weight builds confidence, the strength builds independence, the challenges create toughness, the consistency builds new habits and the achievements along the way will empower you and make you hungry for more....
If you've thought about it, you are enough. If you are willing to try, you are enough. If you've ever wanted more, you are enough. The only restrictions are those you put on yourself.
Too often we don't allow ourselves to blossom, instead hold ourselves back... you ARE stronger than you think, in mind, body and soul. Take that first step into the nerve racking unknown and it'll change your life 🤗
